How to beat the heat when it's 104 outside!

Bryan's sister's kids are here for the weekend. The kids love to play together and especially to go outside. But since it's 104 today we found a way to beat the heat. What's more fun than a hose, water guns, a plastic pool, popsicles and sunscreen?

Maddie's Tubular Day!

Maddie was such a brave girl today and made it through her first surgical procedure amazingly. This morning she got tubes in her ears and is already happy and recovering perfectly. The nurses all thought she was the cutest thing ever walking around with her little gown and blue hospital booties. She bravely walked with the nurse away from her parents until she realized they weren't following. Then she kicked the nurse and tried to get away. After a little while the nurse came back asking Mom to come help with Maddie. She was awake and not happy. The nurses exact words were "She sure knows the word "NO!" I went to her and she instantly stood and I picked her up. She stopped crying and just held on tight. We went home about an hour later. Everything went so smooth and I'm incredibly grateful for all the prayers on her behalf.
