Jillian and Madelyn's Birthday Eggstravaganza!

My goal for the week: Update Blog
I know I've been a pretty bad blogger lately. It's not for lack of desire. I just feel like I have nothing to say that anyone would really care to hear. I have been thinking about something great to write all day and have come up completely blank. So instead of something great you're going to hear a few interesting facts about our family.
I wake up between 7-8 depending on when Caden comes into my room to ask for breakfast. I like it when he comes in around 7:15-7:30 so I get a little more sleep. It's not good if he comes in at 7:50 when we have to leave at 8:00 for school. I know I need to be the grown up and wake myself up, but he's a really good alarm clock. This really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who knows me. I've never been a morning person. My friend, Danielle, who used to teach next door to me, still teases me about how late I was to school every day. There were a few times when I got there at the same time the kids were lining up to come in. In my defense I stayed after school until at least 5:00 to have everything ready when I got there and my principal didn't mind
Madelyn's favorite thing to do is to use the kitchen chairs to manuever around the house. She pushes them to the tv so she can reach up and turn it on, change channels or to get the remote so she can play with it on the couch. She's not even two and is quite good at using a remote.
If she's not pulling the chair by the tv then she's pushing it to the counter in the kitchen. There she'll be sitting on the kitchen counter pushing buttons on the phone, taking my wallet out of my bag and removing all my cards, pictures and money. If I haven't caught her by then she'll start to pull cups out of the cupboard. Luckily she's only broken one! I know it sounds like I'm a horrible mom, but I swear this happens in about 45 seconds. I just can't keep up with her! I've now resorted to taking all the kitchen chairs and putting them in my room with the door shut so she can't get on the countertops. She only gets on them now when I get a chair out for Jillian to eat or Caden to do homework. I eat on the couch or stand because I'm too lazy to walk back and forth with chairs all day.
Madelyn also loves the toilet. She likes to put her hand in it and drink the water out of it. This is pretty gross in itself, but unfortunately Jillian has a bad habit of forgetting to flush when she goes to the bathroom. Yes, last week I found Maddie drinking in the toilet after Jillian used it. I almost threw up for her.
I really could go on and on, but I'll stop there. I hope your week is a little better knowing these interesting facts about us. I'm still trying to think of one about Bryan, but am coming up empty. He did do something amazing last night though. We had his sister's 3 kids for the weekend and I offered to watch my friend's almost 2 year old daughter so they could have a special dinner. On Thursday I was asked by the YW president to attend a stake YM/YW activity from 5:30-10:30 that took place last night. She had plans and didn't want to cancel so I told her I'd go. I left Bryan home with 7 kids ages 7,6,6,4,3,1,1 to fix dinner, bathe them and get them to bed. At 7:00 I remembered that Caden was supposed to give a talk in church this morning so I called Bryan. He then helped him prepare a talk on top of everything else. I felt so bad leaving him to everything, but he never complained and did an amazing job. He's the greatest!
