Jillian the Indian Princess

Jillian's preschool class did a Thanksgiving feast last week and she got assigned to dress up like an Indian. She was very excited and insisted on using her Indian hat she made in class. When I asked her to put her Indian hat on to go she said, "It's not my Indian hat it's my Princess Indian crown!" I laughed. She's always got to be the princess.

She did not like the Pumpkin Pie!

I still hate needles!

So this was me yesterday. I have been suffering from major back spasm pains for the last three weeks and was desperate for relief. My wonderful friend, Karin, who's called me every day for the last three weeks to see how I'm doing and to find out if I need anything has been suggesting I give it a try. It did wonders for her father in law and her brother in law so she thought it'd be great for me. The only problem is: I HATE NEEDLES! Well, after suffering for so long and with no relief from muscle relaxers, Vicotin, heat, ice, exercises and lots of rest I finally gave in to her advice.

This is what she told me and what I've heard a million times from everybody else. Well, I just want to set the record straight for the rest of you, IT'S A LIE! I can tell you with all honestly that I felt every needle going into my back and it was not pain-free. I was also awake the whole time fully aware of lots of needles sticking in my back. It's also not pain-free when they pull those suckers out either.

I do have to admit that I felt a little better after the treatment and could actually stand straight up for the first time in weeks. I still have a lot of pain, but the cute Chinese lady told me it'd get even better after the next appointment. She asked if I wanted to book my next appointment then, but I told her I'd have to call her later. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the PAIN to try again or if I should just try something else. If anyone has any experience I'd love to hear it!

How did I get to be so old?

Today's conversation with my son:

Caden: Mom, do you know what "Wall Ball" is?
Mom: Yes.
Caden: You do? (totally shocked)
Mom: Yes.
Caden: Did you play wall ball at school when you were a kid like me?
Mom: Yes.
Caden: Wow. Wall Ball's been around a really LONG time!
Mom: Thanks Caden.

So then I pondered our little conversation and realized how old I'm getting. I know I just turned 30 this year and that makes me feel old, but seeing how old my kids think I am really makes me feel even older. I used to tease my parents about them being old and now it's coming back to bite me! Sorry Mom and Dad!

A Very Happy Halloween!

This year we went for traditional costumes. Jillian was dying to be a witch and I thought Maddie would be an adorable pumpkin. The only problem was getting Caden on board. He didn't know what he wanted to be, but it definitely wasn't a skeleton. He tossed around being a blue Power Ranger (he likes the color blue, but he doesn't like Power Rangers), Spiderman (without the mask), Thomas the Train (I swear he's 6), or being a firefighter (again). Finally I talked him into the skeleton and he agreed to let me paint his face. While doing it he got really excited and told me he loved having his face painted. Then when all his friends thought his costume was cool he got excited about it too.

So last night they had fun traveling the neighborhood getting treats and enjoying the "scary" decorations. Caden wanted to run to every house on the street and forget about his sisters, Jillian couldn't understand why her wand didn't have magic so she could turn people into frogs and Maddie tried to run into everyone's house when they opened the door. Needless to say it was a lot of fun and a lot of work.
