Finally Scrapbooking AGAIN!

It's been way too long since I've done any scrapbooking and this weekend I finally worked on some pages. My scrapbooking buddies and I went to a crop on Saturday night and I was actually productive. Life's been pretty busy lately and with Madelyn, the monster, I haven't gotten anything done. It felt so good to hang out with friends and do what I love. I thought I'd share a few pages that I worked on.

I found the missing MARKER!

So Jillian was coloring the other day and using markers. When she was cleaning up she couldn't find the blue marker. She had the blue cap, but no marker. We looked everywhere and couldn't find it. I figured Maddie probably took it and threw it in the garbage. Well, I had just cut up raw chicken and threw the fatty parts in the trash so I wasn't about to search through it. The next day I put Maddie in her high chair with some breakfast and walked away. I came back a few minutes later and figured out where the blue marker was. Maddie must have stuck it in the high chair cushion and found it. Isn't she a beautiful artist?

Jillian's First Field Trip!

Jillian's preschool class went to the fire station this week and it was so cool! Jillian loved the firemen and looked like a kid in the candy store the entire time. She just might change her mind from being a princess when she grows up to being a fire fighter! The firemen taught them about what fire fighters look like and showed them their gear. Jillian even volunteered to try on the coat! Then they taught them about 911 and what to do in different situations.

The class got to take a tour of the station and the firefighters even slid down the pole for them. Then they got to see the fire trucks and take turns pretending to drive. After that the firemen took out a fire hose and the kids took turns shooting the water on the front lawn. This was Jillian's favorite part. She said she was watering the tree. Jillian came home and was so excited for Caden to get home from school so she could tell him all about her day.

GOLL, I mean GOAL!

Caden has had the best soccer season ever this year. He played last year and loved it, but had someone's grandpa as the coach. The coach knew a lot about soccer and not so much about how to talk to and teach little boys. Caden spent most of the season worried and scared he'd get in trouble or yelled out. Then this year he begged Bryan to coach. Since Bryan knew how hard last year was for him he decided to do it. Well, it's been so great for both of them this season.

Caden scored his second goal of the season this week and led his team to a 1-0 victory. So far the team has won every game but one that they tied. The boys are all so happy and learning a lot. The parents are happy and it's been such an improvement from last year. Caden came home from the game and was so excited. He then drew a picture of the game. He drew a picture of him and his teammate Harpreet who was next to him when he kicked the goal. He wrote the words himself and I was pretty impressed with his writing skills. It says, "At the game it was fun. I mad (made) a goll (goal) there." He also wrote "goll!" next to his picture. He told me, "I put the exclamation point there because I'm excited and it's like I'm yelling Goal!" Not too bad for a 6 year old!

It Finally Came Out!

Caden's had a loose tooth for a few weeks now and has told/shown everyone about it. We even watched during the Primary Program in Sacrament Meeting at church him sitting by the bishop and leaning over to him and talking. The next thing you see is Caden wiggling his tooth and the bishop smiling and mouthing "Wow!" Needless to say, he's been very excited about. Well, it's become so wiggly lately that both Bryan and I have been tempted to yank it out just so we'll stop having to see Caden's daily wiggle checks.

Well, I went to pick up Caden from school today and he came sprinting over to me with the biggest smile on his face. I instantly noticed his toothless grin and welcomed his cheerful embrace. He said, "Mom, I lost my tooth at school!" He had the cutest tooth necklace with his tooth safely inside and a sticker. He told me exactly how it happened. "Mrs. O'Brien was reading us a book at story time and I just touched my tooth with my tongue and it popped out! She stopped the book for the day and gave me a kleenex cause teeth bleed when they get lost. Then she put my tooth in the necklace and I got a sticker!" He then proceeded to show/tell everyone he saw on the way home. Even the crossing guard was excited to see his tooth finally gone.

He is now soundly sleeping and can't wait for the morning so he can see how much money the tooth fairy gives him. He asked before bed if the tooth fairy would give him all her money. I asked why he needed that much and he said, "To fill up my piggy bank!"
